Security Partitions
The best means of protection from automated equipment does not have to be an expensive hi-tech item. There are simple yet effective ways to protect employees from the dangers of automated equipment. Physical Barriers from Wire Crafters provide an excellent alternative. Our barriers are a reliable, versatile, and economical answer to personnel safety.
RELIABILITY:
The Physical Barrier is always on duty, unaffected by power outages or electrical problems. Once erected, our barrier restricts access to the work cell and prevents employees from casually wandering into an area where they may be injured by automated equipment. The physical barrier also provides a visual barrier, alerting workers to the existence of automated and potentially hazardous equipment. Physical Barriers will not interrupt robotic operations through mischievous or inadvertent contact, as may happen with light curtains or switchmats. Finally, the barrier doubles as a potential safety net by helping to contain objects thrown or ejected by a malfunctioning robot.
VERSATILE:
Twenty standard size panels are used to build your exact enclosure. The modular panels mount to posts set on maximum 10'-2" centers. The panels can be mounted in many configurations and with our adjustable mounting kit, odd angle configurations are possible. A typical barrier uses a five-foot-high panel mounted one foot above floor level on a six-foot-high post. This makes a barrier tall enough to keep employees out, while leaving a generous sweep space for the clean-up crew. Taller barriers may be built by stacking panels and changing post height.
ECONOMICAL:
Wire Crafters Physical Barriers install quickly with standard hand tools. All hardware is easily accessible to the installer from inside the work cell. The posts mount to your plant floor with 1/2" wedge anchors. Future layout changes may be accomplished with little or no waste. The system's modular panels may be relocated and used again as your system grows.
